Paint photo software help im used to photoshop?

i have paint software for editing photos i work with photo shop at school,im used to being able to make a picture black and white then recolr certain parts of it in like a rose in a field or a perosns shoes or somthing random.i dont know how i can do that on paint can u help me please give details!!!Paint photo software help im used to photoshop?
I am not sure Paint is that powerful, I see it more like a drawing program..





Why not get The Gimp, it is good and the best for pure editing on the free and it is similar to Photoshop. http://www.gimp.org
