Is GIMP a trustworthy application? any free downloaded software applications like paint?

i need an application like paint but more updated. unfortunatly i have no cash so a free download would be great but i'd like to stay on the right side of the law. i found this thing called GIMP but don't know if its trustworthy.

Gimp is safe, much like photoshop or paintshop-pro photo or photostudio, there are other freeware editors that may be useful as well,

Gimp is safe but it does require a degree of skill to use it because its interface isn't the most welcoming. You can download it safely here

GIMP is best take my word 4 it. you wont get beeter then GIMP. I know we pro use very costly software but that does mean they r good. GIMP is good honey.

It's trustworthy I've used it plenty of times, it's open source as well. Another one to consider is paint.net which i think is simpler than GIMP
